Former journalist, editor, and economic analyst. Amateur architect, photographer, and strong advocate of saving historic buildings and rural places. My short fiction has won first-place awards in Virginia and my native Kentucky. When I’m not writing, I’m training Goose, my young yellow Lab, not to kiss strangers or eat the TV remote.

I have completed a standalone upmarket novel (95,000 words) set in the Tidewater with romantic suspense and gothic elements for which I am currently seeking representation. I am halfway through my second novel.
Through my standalone novels, I’m exploring a genre that seems tailor-made for me: seaside gothic.
