Author Bio
I’ve lived on four continents, in six countries and nine states. My career began in New York City where I worked for fourteen years as a magazine editor and writer and, later, as an advertising executive. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and have published over a hundred magazine articles, seven books, poetry and short stories. I’ve taught writing at the Simon Fraser Writing and Publishing Program in Vancouver, B.C., and the Osher Institute at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. My volunteer work has included, among many other things, running a women's shelter; a craft store; a woman's golf league; an investment club and an after-school enrichment program for primary school children in East Africa. I’ve served on the executive board of An Occasion for the Arts and the Williamsburg Book Festival.
