Author Bio

Melissa Amateis holds a BA in history from Chadron State College and an MA in history from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL). Her last novel, The Stranger from Berlin, was published by Simon & Schuster UK in 2021, and her nonfiction publications include Nebraska POW Camps (2014) and World War II Nebraska (2020), both by The History Press, and several articles in America in WWII magazine. An amateur photographer, Snoopy collector, classic movie lover, and avid bibliophile, Amateis lives with her daughter in Virginia along with a rambunctious lab/border collie mix appropriately named Blitz and two kitties.

I write 20th century historical fiction set before, during, and after World War II.
