Current Writing Opportunities
Below are current writing opportunities for CBW members.
WRL invites teens (13-18) and adults (19+) who live in Williamsburg, James City County, or York County to participate in the 2025 Short Story Competition. Submission must be unpublished. More info on the WRL website: https://www.wrl.org/short-story/
There is always opportunity to write for the newsletter.

The Golden Nib for 2024 is now over. Look for details in 2025 for the next contest.
There is also a Teen nib for high school aged children. Look for that as well in 2025. All announcements can be found on the Virginia Writers Club Website.
The Golden Nib
The Golden Nib, started in 2005, is the Virginia Writers Club (VWC) annual writing competition in three categories: Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry. The contest has two tiers. CBW first place winners receive a cash prize and go on to compete in the VWC state-wide contest with cash prizes.
